Toy Food

Like real food but is toy.

You can’t spell “slaughter” without “laughter.

Boredom

I’m sure anything with a brain hates boredom. After all, it’s using that brain that makes us conscious and able to function as a living being.

When I’m at school with my friends they’ll sometimes say things like, “Oh my gosh I’m so bored,” or “There’s nothing to do.” Even though I sometimes think of suggesting something to keep us entertained, I’ve learned not to. Because every time I suggest playing Tic Tac Toe or working on a school project or something to amuse ourselves, they say they’re just not up to it. Five minutes later they will continue to complain how bored they are. It seems that people would rather endure being bored than take the time to actually do something else, even if that something else is drawing a little grid on a piece of paper.                                                                Anyone else remember these things?

When I was a kid I would sometimes go to my mom complaining that I was bored. She would always respond with “You don’t know what bored is, kid. I’ll give you a reason to be bored.” To this day I still have no idea what that meant. I’m not sure she did either.

After telling my mother and getting nowhere, I would pull out my toys of little farm animals and Winnie the Pooh characters and such (man, now I feel old). But instead of playing with them I would sort them into groups or arrange them into little patterns like some quiet savant child from a sci fi show. Maybe being an only child contributed to this somehow, because a few years later I developed a rather complicated system for playing cards with myself.                                                                                 If I had known this exsisted I probaby would have gone ape shit.

I’ve recently read that excessive boredom can be bad for your health since being bored can lead to behaviors such as drinking and smoking and I guess that makes sense. However it worries me that the people in generation can complain about being bored and not do anything to make it stop. I guess complaining of bored could be a cure for boredom…?
